Car is running hot and have no heat why?

I agree with Mr. Crosby, you have an "air Lock" in the system-depending on the engine, there should be a "bleeder" somewhere close to the thermastat, if not try loosening the upper radiator hose enough to "bleed" the air out, just be careful not to burn yourself with hot water as the engine generally needs to be warm enough for the thermastat to be open and have full coolant circulation, an air bubble will have a tendency to go to the highest place in the system. Sometimes an "air lock" can be a real bugger to get out!

Most likely there's air in the system. I have a 2001 Intrigue and ran into the same problem with overheating and no heat. You probably need to bleed the air out.
