it's 23 years old and Firestone touched it! i don't know which is worse.
Drop the big chain repair 'store' facade and find a reputable independent auto repair 'shop'! .. Since it's the most likely cause of the problem and the easiest to access for testing .. The mirror directional switch is first suspect that should be investigated to help determine what the actual culprit is .. IF the switch is 'sending' power to the mirror then a broken wire of failed mirror assembly comes next ...... Also, once the desired mirror setting is achieved (can be done manually) forget about it .. Switch been broke in my Chevy Blazer for several years and I could easily fix it BUT I rarely, if ever need to change the mirror position .. However if I do - I do it by moving the mirror glass with my hand .. Good luck and happy holidays!
The switch was replaced when that switch was broken, but a broken wire seems to make since.I'll look into that.I'am moving the mirror with my fingers anyway, but will I damage the gears in it if I do that to many times which isn't often? Thanks friend and HAPPY HOILDAYS to you as well.
I know how old the car is and in hind sight I shouldn't let Firestone done this, but you still haven't answered the question in what was wrong or how to get it fixed.I may have to go to Minekie to do it next or have them look @ it
