Oil in the adapter housing between transmission and transfer case

What is your question?

Is there supposed to be any oil in the adapter housing between the transmission and the transfer case on my 2002 oldsmobile Bravada or is there a change that the rear transmission seal is leaking. I am replacing the transfer case and noticed oil there.

There will be fluid in the housing between the transmission and transfer case - should replace the gasket and transfer case seal - if that hasn’t been done.

Transmission doesn’t have a rear seal - there should be a gasket and transfer case front seal.
