Battery constantly dies. Had lots diagnosed and no fix. Remember that car started with all kinds of electrical probs when remote key died. So, think a new key and reprogramming might solve prob?! REALLY HOPING! Need cheapest route...ideas? THK U

Right, it may have something to do with it, but what if the remote isn't dead? Since the key and the remote are independent of one another, I don't think the two of them went bad, I think the anti-theft system on the vehicle needs to be scanned. You can try the key by having one cut, then programming it with a few steps: -turn key to on (engine off). security light will go off in 10 minutes -turn key to off and back to ON, ten more minutes, light goes off -repeat last step exactly, but after the third 10 minute wait an light shuts off, turn it off and remove the key. That's it.
IF the key is your problem > Security light in dash SHOULD be ON constantly.
