My car turns over but will not start. How do I reset my security it blinks

I have had this happen 3 times. Try to start car. If it does not start, leave key in on position until security light stops flashing then restart vehicle. It works everytime but sometimes takes longer than others. 10 to 20 minutes. I was always away from home. It happened to my wife and she phoned me and I walked her thru it and no problem. Hope it works for you. Sometimes it only happens about 1 year apart and another time it happened 2 days in a row. Do not tow to shop to fix it they will charge you $100 to just do what I described.

My 2003 Oldsmobile Alero has security issues. The security light was on and the car would turn over, but not start. After a few days it would start again. Finally took it to a shop and the guy said to throw off the security system when the light is on is to turn the key to the on position 3 times, after the third time, leave the key in the on position. The security light will be blinking. After about 10-25 minutes the light will go off.. You can then turn the car off and it should start. This is a very annoying thing to have to deal with.
