Installed new water pump

What is your question?

Installed water pump and thermostat now car idles fast and tries to die when you stop also sounds rough when idling. Could i have the timing off? It didn't sound this way before,although it would idle rough at stop lights but never die.The only time it did was when it over heated and it shut itself down.
