What is your question?
I know oil should be added such that, when checked, it goes up to the last dot of the cross-hatched area. However, my car has a slow leak, and I'd prefer not to check it more than once a week, so I'd like to add a little extra, so it won't go below the last dot. However, the owner's manual suggests that the oil level can be below the last dot, and that if you add too much, it can damage the engine. Would you recommend that I add a little extra, so that it goes maybe a quarter of an inch above the last dot, and I don't have to check it as often? Thank you so much.

Maintain the oil level as necessary - it won’t damage the engine to put a little more oil in after the level is full - but no more that 1/2 qt. (8oz) .. ⚠️ USE DIP STICK FOR MEASUREMENTS ‘EACH TIME‘ OIL IS ADDED ⚠️
