this just started today I have an olds 88 with a 6cyl when I drive in the city it drives fine but on the hiway if I hit a long hill the transmission will jerk as it trys to kick down to a lower gear the car only has about 160000 miles on it and run good , any idea of what it could be?

Suspect engine misfire after transmission shifts into highest gear putting the greatest load on engine... Not noticeable in lower gears (city driving) .... Trans problem, torque converter shutter, feels like driving over rumble strips on the road...not a jerking sensation!! .. Good tune should take care of it..
