2014 Nissan Xterra locked in Park

What is your question?

The only way I can shift out of Park is to press the shift lock. I have heard this is a common problem with the Xterra but I need to fine out what is wrong so the dealership does not take advantage of me. I have no other issue with my Xterra no noises or leaks
