My inigition won't turn with the key in it

This the first time the key inigition won't turn I have turned the steering wheel back and forth it still won't turn the key inigition I used the shifter over ride to move the shifter to make sure it was in park all the way but what's crazy is it still lets me use my power windows without the key in the inigition

What makes this problem better or worse?
