Every time I turn on my A/C my car makes noise. What's wrong with it?

It could be a loose drive belt for compressor or Compressor clutch assembly is faulty--new compressor with clutch should be replaced.

noise,like belt squeaking,or pulley squeaking?is the belt loose or very old?
