My ignition is stuck in the lock position my steering wheel is not locked

As an auto mechanic for 'MANY' years and one that don't put much stock in these type of DIY fixes - I was very skeptical about this method - until one day at the shop, on a vehicle with the same problem - I decided to try it .. Well it worked perfectly! .. However IF you try it and it does release the key lock so it will turn, I recommend driving to a repair shop before turning the engine off. Liberally spraying WD-40 into the key slot - using the little red straw - before hand will also help to free the stuck 'ignition lock tumblers' inside the cylinder. You can always contact a professional - mobile locksmith - OR - have vehicle towed to a repair facility. Good luck!
