2017 Rouge Sport with 3k miles the AWDLock goes on at 60 mph when the new spare tire is on LF position. AWD high temp. alarm comes on after 3 miles. Take spare tire off the front and problem goes away. Its a nissan original spare tire. Dealer says spare tire is correct size. Dealer finds nothing wrong. Front end low growling noise when AWD is locked in. Wheel power distribution graphic on dash confirms 100%power to 4wheels. Whats wrong?
What makes this problem better or worse?
Only when spare tire on car.
How long has your 2017 Nissan Rogue had this problem?
Today after flat tire change.

Just curious - WHY is the spare tire on the vehicle in the first place?
I could only imagine the tire is not the same diameter as the other 3. Maybe the spare is not designed to go that fast. I'd say check with the dealer but you already did that. Maybe call nissan customer care. Alex
The car also has a tire mis-size warning light which did not come on. The Awd lock just comes on by itself at normal highway speed. Dealer says tire is ok. Didnt know what was wrong and told me to go home. I have call in to nissan. Expect to hear from them monday. Id say problem is the car does not know that a spare is on and thinks wheels are slipping like in snow.
Nissan says AWD LOCKS ON if you drive over 50mph with spare tire on. Cant be right!!
Size is written on each tire - IF in doubt - *measure* circumferences and compare. ALL tires must be ‘exactly’ the same - or this problem will continue.
Lf flat. Couldn’t even drive to get tire repaired without the problem. Dealer said spare tire was correct.
Dealer is mistaken!!
