Prime suspect is the # 5 ignition coil is intermittently failing .. This will require intake plenum removal ., That is a very involved procedure .. It is highly recommended to let a professional take care of this problem for you .. VERY FEW DIYer's have the capability to complete this repair process! It is also recommended to replace ALL of the firewall side ignition coils at same time to prevent having to repeat this repair process again in the near future ., You may want to consider fuel injector replacement as well. Good luck with it!
very good answer and very helpful, do it take special tools to remove the intake plenum?
Really just a ‘good set’ of metric hand tools. I’m positive there is a how to video on YouTube that’ll help you out - IF you are considering doing this yourself - we never know what ones skill level is or what tools they have available .. It is certainly doable but you will need some auto repair savvy to do it successfully. Google > 2004 Nissan Quest ignition coil replacement - see resulting page for a video link.
