I believe the actuator needs to be replaced, but I need to have the hatch open in order to fully take out the inside hatch panel and take out the failed actuator.

‘IF’ can hear actuator respond (attempting to release) - possible jammed door latch - sit inside put feet on hatch - try to force open .... IF no luck - seek professional *hands-on* assistance. Otherwise diy repair attempt will result in trim panel damage. Good luck!
