What is your question?
Replaced alternator on the vehicle in question and need to know if a "Control Panel reboot" is a standard procedure without additional charge. After the alternator was installed, the dome lights, clock and automatic door locks no longer work. I guess the basic question is whether or not the reboot should be a part of the replacement or is it a separate charge?

did you disconnect the battery before replacing the alternator?any SPARKS at any time?
It was done in a shop so I have no way of knowing that. The vehicle and myself are in two different locales, I am in southern CA and the vehicle is in western WA.
i never heard of that!unless unhooking the battery is what you are talking about.that would reset everything.sounds like some fuses got blown.call the dealer and ask them about a REBOOT?
Problem solved, as I thought it was a blown fuse. Now how it got blown I have no idea but obviously, somehow during the process of replacing the alternator something got shorted out and blew the fuse. Thank you for the responses.
well, don't that beat all!as long as it's fixed, that's what matters.glad to hear it was only a fuse.
