So I have a sputtering problem like when driving it kinda seems like it loses power quickly then comes back and it gets really bad when I excellerate it kinda throws the car back and forth

So the problem happens all the time even when ideling it doesn't rev up it drops in rpms almost a full 1000 rpm and when I'm excelerating it gets a lot worse.
What makes this problem better or worse?
