2005 Murano 165k miles uses oil every 1,000. What weight synthetic oil?

Hello, your vehicle's engine is made to use with 5W30 engine oil. 10W30 can also be used, if desired, as long as you stay above 0 degrees Fahrenheit. It would be unlikely that you would benefit from a grade of oil change. You also do not need to use full synthetic engine oil. Recommendation would be to keep an eye on your oil level and top off as needed -- making sure to not over-fill your crankcase. You can certainly change your oil every 3,000 miles if you'd like, but i'm thinking 5,000 is sufficient, as long as you maintain the level during the interval.

Most vehicle manufacturers will state that is acceptable oil consumption.. I guess it actually depends on the owner..
