I have no rough, bumpy, noisy ride; went in for oil change; how does dealer know lower front/right control arms are broken if bushings are sealed & that front struts are leaking? Dealer wants $789 lower left/right control arms w/alignment; $704 for fr/struts.

bushings are only a part of the control arms. there may be other areas that are damaged. if you dont believe them, get a second opinion from another shop and a bid from them to compare. Roy
A visual determination would have been made on the leaking struts, As there would be a visual trace running down body of shock/strut. As far as the control arm bushings, we at this shop have seen numerous vehicles that the arm bushings just are worn. They are not a sealed bushing, and any inspecting shop should be able to notate if that issue is present. (if the issue IS present) The dealers use "cheap services" to lure customers for service, due to thats how dealers make money.
That is what I needed to know, that these are visibly evident; that they were not relying on noises or vibrations which are non-existent. What do you mean by "cheap services"?
Should all be visible items, that would be pointed out to the customer in the shop with the car on the lift. "cheap services" refer to $25 oil changes, or other "lowered cost" service items that are used to lure customers into the dealership so issues can be found and customer bill is driven up.
