with this many miles am I safe or should I replace the radiator and what brand should I use. I need to change coolant and trany fluid soon so this would not be a cost in deciding.

What makes this problem better or worse?

It is certainly a good thing that you’re thinking preventative maintenance for your vehicle - however unless the coolant appears excessively rusty or there is any indication a leak is present - I see no need to replace the radiator itself.

Coolant replacement alone will help prolong the life of all components within the cooling system. This cooling system maintenance is quite often overlooked.
