Possibly soda, coffee or other sticky substances have gotten spilled into the shifter cavity - which becomes more viscous as ambient temps go down .. Spraying a BUNCH of WD-40 into the shifter cavity - and on ALL shifter mechanisms then working shifter back and forth should take care of this issue - - of course that is IF this is indeed the problem. You're attempting to free up the sticking park lock solenoid which is activated by depressing brake pedal.. Good luck!
Thanks for the reply but I don't think anything has ever been spilled in there. Plus, when it does decide to go into gear if I can ever get it too, it slips right in like nothing was wrong. Wondering since it has to do with depressing the brake pedal if it could have something to do with the brakes or a brake fuse or something.....
At this point the only suggestion I have is contact local auto repair facility: ⬛ï¸â—¼ï¸â—¾ï¸â–ªï¸ https://repairpal.com/repair-shopsâ–ªï¸â—¾ï¸â—¼ï¸â¬›ï¸
Cleaning and lubricating the shifter mechanism is the FIRST thing the shop will attempt! Again - good luck!
Ambient temperature doesn’t affect the ‘electrical’ system.. Fuses do not come and go nor does the brake light switch.
