I recently bought a Nissan armada it started misfiring come to find out the coil packs was bad and the catalytic converter was bad before it was misfiring I tried to use my cruise control and light started blinking then shortly after it was misfiring.

Cruise control is rendered non functional when an engine malfunction is present.

This is by default - after engine operation is restored to normal - cruise control will also be... No - the cruise control is not responsible for a misfiring engine. I guess the best option is to have the engine misfire repaired to start with.
