What is your question?
Suddenly when driving on the highway, I loose acceleration, with my gas pedal to the floor. When I pump it, the rmps will jump to 3, then immediately return to 2. New spark plugs and oil change. The check engine light isn't on and the temp is good. It doesn't happen every time I drive on the highway, only occasionally and without notice. I don't seem to be doing anything different. After sitting for about 15 minutes, I start it up and it runs fine. I was told it could possibly be the CVT?! Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

More than likely an intermittent *throttle by wire failure*.. Unfortunately the only way to prove that is testing while the failure is occurring... There is a throttle pedal position sensor that sends a signal to the throttle body position sensor as pedal is depressed, either sensor may fail 'intermittently' resulting in no accelerator pedal response .. Also possibly a wiring issue... There is no quick, push button fix, it needs to be tested.
I agree with pushrod. I would think any drive by wire problem would be an instant ck engine light and put the vehicle in fail safe (limp mode). Have you scanned the car for pending codes?
No codes have come up! What exactly is limp mode?
Pretty much its to get you home, the engine won't usually go very fast... (40 mph)... or so.
Thank you!
Sure.
