Is the grey alternator pigtail wire supposed to give a reading on a multimeter?

What is your question?

I'm getting no battery charge and was testing the alternator pigtail connections. The grey wire is the only one that doesn't give me a reading on the multimeter. Is it supposed to? I think it's connected to the ipdm.

Normally if the alternator has stopped maintaining battery charge and there isn’t a blown fuse - the alternator gets replaced.
