The hybrid warning light came on, what does that mean?

It's a WARNING that there is a PROBLEM with your HYBRID system. Possibly another hint may be that "it felt like I was losing power going uphill. It sputtered." Get it checked at a dealer OR a shop with the knowledge and equipment to FIX it.
