Where shoild i go to have it scanned? Does it have to be at the dealer?

No. Auto zone will do it for free.

I went to auto zone.. They only scan engine lights..

Sorry head up a-- syndrome. Needs a scanner with data to read the temp sensor and AZ only has a reader. Does need someone with a scanner with that capability. Might give some calls try Find a Shop icon on top of the page and call and ask if they would check it for you.
