Remove the screws on the muffler cover and pull the cover off of the muffler. Remove the screws securing the spark arrestor and detach it from the muffler. Once the spark arrestor assembly has been removed from the muffler, split the spark arrestor screen away from the exhaust pipe and set it aside. Clean the spark arrestor screen To clean the screen you will need a blow torch and a pair of needle-nose pliers. do this outside to avoid potential fire danger.OR,just throw the screen away like I do! Put back together, fire it up,happy weed eating!
Replace - old gas - fuel filter - spark plug and turn carburetor HI and LO screws out 1/4 turn. Hold trigger at wide open throttle to fine tune carburetor screw settings. A little SeaFoam in gas tank will help.
Depending on carburetor type - adjustment screws may have plastic limiter caps - the caps can be removed for adjustments. Do toss out the spark arrestor screen .. IF it’s that dry outside (fire danger) - don’t need to be using a grass trimmer in the first place!
seem to me it's not getting enough gas what else can cause this problem other than the muffer and spark arresto
