What is your question?
36 days ago the valve cover leaked. I installed new valve cover gasket( outer only, and not seals for spark plug tubes because I didn't know they were imbedded into the actual cover). I also installed brand new spark plugs and ignition coils/boots as well. The car had to be used for my spouse to get to work soon. I then made my own seal around the spark plug tubes with Black RTV liquid gasket maker as a temporary solution until I could afford to buy a new 'valve cover' which had the seals imbedded. The 2 tubes started leaking about a week after the installation. I now have the new cover and outer gasket. Do I have to purchase and replace the somewhat already new spark plugs and ignition coils? She has drive about 1500 miles since that repair was made. Do I have to buy new plugs and ign coils? Or can I clean the somewhat new ones up and re-instal?

Clean off oil and reuse, make sure to also use dielectric grease
you will need to get the oil out.get an antifreeze tester,$3.00,and suck up the oil out of tube wells, then take a shop rag and a screwdriver, push the rag down in well and sop up the rest of the oil.dont take the plugs out with all that oil in there, probably no need to remove plugs.clean ends of wires or coils with cleaner and let dry before re-install.clean both mounting surfaces good before re-install new gasket.dont let crap fall in there when cleaning.
Why/What is the coolant tester for?
He wants you to use it to slurp up some of the oil pooled around the plugs. It will destroy the tester though. Just get all you can out with rags and you should be fine.
yeap, just throw it away when finished, either way get the oil out.
