2005 350Z with 67,000 miles. Cost seem excessive

do you mean valve cover gaskets,or the valve cover.at the top of this page,click on estimator and enter your year,make,mode,and use your zip code.it does seem high to me.try and find a trusted shop for this.the valve cover gaskets and the spark plug tube seals are around $50.00 for the felpro brand.
Its like a 2-3 hour job for a normal technician so I would expect to pay under $500 after parts and tax.

Yes, very much expensive. I replaced mine as I bought the parts on line and found a video on how to replace gaskets and seals. It takes a few hours to complete but with the video, it was not that bad. Try doing it yourself and save a lot. For that kind of money Id fly there and do it myself to include parts.
