why did you change the fuel pump? did you check for power on the old pump before replacing it? how are you checking for power and where are you checking at?
i assume you pulled the fuel pump fuse when you changed the fuel filter to relieve the fuel pressure before removing the fuel pump out of the fuel tank.your vehicle has NO external fuel filter..it is built into the fuel pump module inside the fuel tank, unless you posted the wrong info about the model of your vehicle! you must have the Sport Model,it makes a difference in the Sport and just Regular Montero 4WD model, and that Sport does have an external fuel filter.can you hear the fuel pump come on in the tank for 2 seconds when the key is turned to ON?
I have a 01 montero limited. I changed the in tank filter on the pump assy. Put it back in, hooked it up, now not getting any power to the pump. I have no instruction as to where and which fuse and or relay for the fuel is located. Or is there something else I need to be looking at. Thanks
ok. i assume you disconnected the negative battery terminal before doing this work? don't know why you changed the in tank filter?that filter really never needs servicing, although some are doable, and some folks do change them and some just replace the whole assembly. if you had power to the pump before starting this job,and you didn't unhook the negative battery cable, the the only thing that could have happened is you blew a fuse.the only thing i can suggest is,got to any parts house and buy you a cheap test light and test every fuse on your vehicle. you can do this in less than 5 minutes with that test light.you don't have to pull the fuses out.do this with the key ON. test points are little metal tabs on top of the fuses! check both sides of each fuse for power..also,there is an owners manual,> full set on e-bay for $42.09 and free shipping>>: E-bay Item Number 162042673325...you really need this Manual.
I'm sorry I meant to say filter. I changed the in tank filter now no power at the pump connection
