I attempted to start my engine after I filled up at a gas station. When I put the key in and tried to turn it wouldn't, so I flipped the key to the other side and it turned. The engine cranked, but did not start. Then I turned it again and it started.
What is your question?
This is the first time I experienced this. A Mitsubishi mechanic told me that it was just probably a glitch. Any thoughts??
What makes this problem better or worse?
Not sure
How long has your 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage had this problem?
RepairPal Certified shops can diagnose and repair your 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage. They provide transparent pricing with a minimum 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty on repairs and services.
Signs of bad ignition switch (or Ignition cylinder) I would start with switch since its cheaper....but be sure that you would have get it to reprogram from the dealership else it won't start at all since it will put it into immobilizer mode.
Also be aware that overfilling (topping off) fuel tank can cause raw fuel to enter the EVAP system and flood engine upon attempted re-start - immediately after refill.
Engine *cranks* ok - but will not start .. Holding accelerator pedal to floor may help.
IF problems persist - seek *hands-on* diagnosis from qualified personnel.
Good luck!
