My car over heated when I was going some where and then when I got him and checked my filter had oil on it , a lot

converter glowing RED? it's clogged up and you have an oil leak somewhere.
No the converter is not glowing red.would that be all ? It heats up some say it can be caused by the fan. My fan only turns om when I turn the AC on
that"s the condenser fan that comes on when the A/C is turned on.the other fan is the radiator fan and comes on when it gets to a certain temperature,then cuts off when cooled down.unless you are 100% sure that the radiator does not come on while driving it,then the coolant temperature sensor/sender is probably bad...FAN has nothing to do with the converter! you stated CAT in your question,but did you really mean CAR?
