What would cause the battery not to charge on a Mitsubishi Lancer
What is your question?
I have a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer and the battery is not charging while the car runs. The alternator and the battery was recently replaced because the door ajar light was staying on all the time. The switch was replaced and a new interstate battery was put in. The battery light and the brake light both come on after you let up off the accelerator just for a split second and they are dim as well. Is there some type of relay or regulator going from the alternator to the battery?

Reason for asking is - for *this particular vehicle* I strongly recommend a NAPA Power Supreme alternator.
Actually for all vehicles - some of the so called discount auto parts stores are selling junk!
Now NAPA is going to be a little more costly - However having to repeat the installation of low quality parts ‘again’ is too.
I had this same problem with a Mitsubishi Montero - customer had own alternator - first one was no good at all - second one - the brake and battery lights stayed on .. I called NAPA to bring me an alternator for the vehicle and that FIXED IT!
This will need to be checked out *hands-on* of course but if alternator is the culprit - get the good stuff!
