What is your question?
My son came out to his car after work. Car was dead. After much revving of my engine, I got the car jumped. (However, we though this was odd: After failing to get the car jumped with the cable's attached. My son tried one more time with NO cables on, and it started, but ran rough all the way home. Purchased a new battery, which we had to jump to start the car. We drove the car down to my son at work, where it sat for 6 hours. It started and he drove home, but when he turned off the engine anf tried to restart it, it was dead. Car will now start every time we jump it, but if we turn it off, it won't start again. One of the battery cables seems loose, so we are not sure if that is it. I would rather buy new ground cables than pay $200-$350 for a new alternator. Any suggestions? BTW, we tried to tighten down the one cable that is loose, but it seems to be a little stripped and won't tighten too much.
