Auto Trans. 1.8 Engine is bad. I have a 2.4 engine that is good. Can I swap
What is your question?
All is for 1993 Mitsu Expo LRV, auto. I want to swap a 2.4 engine into my 1.8 Expo LRV. Same year. Mounts seem to be the same. Will transmission bolt up ??
RepairPal Certified shops can diagnose and repair your 1993 Mitsubishi Expo LRV. They provide transparent pricing with a minimum 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty on repairs and services.
Thanks for your Reply !!!!
Are these numbers for different transmissions ?
I want to bolt the trans that is in my 1.8 Expo to the 2.4 engine. Do you know if the bell housings are the same, or can I put my 1.8 bell on the 2.4 ? Please let me know.
Again, thanks for your input. Really appreciate it.

Thanks to all for the responses.
Salvage yards interchange books are not real good when it comes to Mitsubishi stuff. Lots of data gaps, that is why I sought help from repairpal. However, if there is anyone out there with a good source for this data, then by all means contact me. Again, thanks to all. This is a great forum.
If you have both engines you should be able to see if they are the same! Measure the bolt pattern and footprint. Salvage yards dont use books anymore, maybe they should!

I believe they are the same, but the 23 is built stronger.
