Why will my 02 eclipse not hold an idol it just dies, but runs great?

IDLE AIR CONTROL CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION

When my 2000 Eclipse GT kept stalling/dying out I found out about an air idle adjustment screw on top of the engine. I was able to adjust the idle to the spec. on the inside hood sticker and it doesn't stall anymore. It's been awhile since I did this so I can't remember if it was a slot or a Phillips screw. There may have been a little cap/cover over it.
