What is your question?
First started with shifter not wanting to come out of park, then ran well all day. Then shifter wouldn't go into park without serious struggle. Driving 65 on highway came out of gear heard a whirring noise and would not drive after that.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Nothing makes it better

Not likely but it is a possibility the transmission fluid is extremely low. More likely internal transmission failure. Good luck!
Hello, a shift lever that will not come out of park is one thing -- which can be related to shift lever interlocking issues due to a sensor or signal that isn't being seen. However, if you can't get the shift lever into park, that creates an entirely different scenario. Sounds like you could have an issue with your shift linkage, or an internal transmission concern. Having your vehicle "come out of gear" -- that sounds like a mechanical concern inside the transmission, unless the linkage was between gears and caused an issue. It's way too hard to know without a good hands on inspection by an experienced technician.
Whirring sound is indicative of transmission pump starving for fluid.. In any event - *Hands-on* evaluation IS required.
