it only knocks when its cold or the oil needs changed.i all ways put lucus in it when i change the iol.should i use a different oil.

this is common for the v6 change your oil more frequently and it will help. you may also want to try a justice bros oil service kit,the really work great
Try a lower viscosity of oil and a high detergent low viscosity product like Risolene.
