I smell a strong gas leak near the passenger side wheel

I filled the tank to 3\4 and drove for 43 miles and noticed i my consumption of fuel loss was a quarter tank. then I smelled gas coming through from the ac vents. I located it near the passenger side wheel well, but I didn't see any leaks nor any cracks in the fuel line attached to the fuel filter. I'm concern Ed that the fuel leak may catch on fire and causing the. car to burn...not kool! any suggestions?? on what to do
