All you need is some fuel additive that contains *Techron* .. Chevron gasoline already contains Techron if you can find it.... You'll get plenty of opinions on this one but what I'm telling you hear is just the plain facts! .. Don't spend money unnecessarily .. Beware of all those attractive services out there these days for there are a few that only look good on paper! .. However if it makes you feel better about your vehicle then do whatever you like!
Thanks and I agree Techron and other gas additives help so that's all I use since day one. I should have been more clear...I need intake valves cleaned as I'm 99% sure I already have carbon buildup . I am told my 2013 Mini R55 has a direct injection engine and prone to carbon build up on intake valves because fuel doesn't spray directly onto valves. I am thinking of getting it done professionally but also considering doing myself using CRC Intake Valve cleaner by spraying into air intake after removing air filter and see how it goes. I do prefer having a respectable mechanic or shop in Honolulu that could do for much less than $575.....I guess cost of repair depends on time and difficulty removing carbon deposits.
Unless it can be cleaned by using a cleaner or additive, engine disassembly is required! .. Another good (proven) product is SeaFoam motor tune.
Seafoam is a good one. BG 44k is more of a maitenance product I think (not as intensive as Seafoam) but also quality. Pushrod is right though, if you have valve problems an engine teardown/rebuild is really the only way to repair. I would doubt it on a 2013, but if you suspect major engine damage get an opinion from an independent shop while you are still under warranty.
