What is your question?
My 2002 Mercury Villager's gauge started showing that the van is over heating. We check under the hood and it doesn't feel or smell hot. It does this every time we drive it. I thought it might be a faulty gauge. Where should I start looking? I look forward to hearing from you!!

antifeeze good, and full.do not check while engine is hot, only check when cool, will scald you.if that guage is correct and you drive it when guage on hot in red,you will spend a lot fixing it.any work done on the van lately?
did you try bleeding the coolant system via the bleed screw mounted on top of the intake located near the throttle body? van has to be running and fan and heat set on high. the bleed screw is a little difficult to locate, but you should find it.
I added a little antifreeze, wasn't really low. I haven't had any work done. I noticed that if I tried to use the a/c, it only ran on high...not medium or low speed. Could this have something to do with it? I drive it to the bank, and the gauge starts going up. Hope you can give me some direction.
is the radiator cooling fan coming on?and no the a/c switch not working on any seetings but high not problem.the blower motor resistor is the cause of motor running on 1 speed only.open hood and start engine let it run a few minutes and you should see cooling fan turn on.fan behind radiator, motor side.keep hands away from fan.
