What is your question?
A test of my newlybreplaced alternator says bad voltage regulator. Also after replacing alt & battery its still charging at 15.4. Could that be a bad alt again or another part. The battery light is on in dash. Also the auto locks lock by themselves constantly & randomly.
How long has your 2000 Mercury Villager had this problem?
A few months

Yes the regulator can be replaced seperate. It's located on the back of the alternator but was likely replaced if you bought a new alternator. Not to say it's not bad though. If this is a remain unit from a local parts store I would not think twice at this being your issue. I see so many faulty right out of the box. Alex
let me guess>Autozone? return it either new or reman and I've seen way to many bad ones right out of the box on both.go to NAPA,they have a VERY VERY low return rate. no comparison to the ZONE,ADV,ORLY.that's why they give you a lifetime warranty because they know that they are going to fail, but they can afford to give you another one, kids building and rebuilding them for pennies somewhere across blue waters!
NAPA PART # - RAY 2139132 I agree - some of the budget parts stores are selling junk!
