well,if you have power,12.6 VDC on the battery, lights, radio, then get a volt meter and a helper.have helper try and start it with key in the crank position.check the small wire on the starter for power.if no power on that terminal, then most likely the ignition switch is bad.if you do have power on the small wire with the switch in the cranking position and the starter does not attempt to spin or crank the engine over, then suspect the starter is bad.
any oil in the distributor cap?
it you to start it don't say anything what can I do to see if it work . we brought a battier yesterday and it still want crank
so,it won't CRANK? or cranks and does not START? lights, radio, horn working?
it want crank and the radio doesn't work the horn doesn't work the lights doesn't work
have you checked all the fuses with a test light to make sure none are blown?
yes I have what else can it be
if you have a brand new battery and it is fully charged(12.6 volts) and all the connections are clean and tight, then you should have power to the main power source(fuse box).if you have power coming from the battery to the fuse box,and nothing coming out of it,then you have probably got a main fuse blown.was the battery hooked up backwards at any time?
yes my husband did hook it up backwards at first until I told him he had it on worng
i just don't see how that could happen.he had to have seen sparks fly when it happened! red cable(positive) to plus symbol on battery>> black cable(ground)to negative symbol on battery.sometimes when this happens, you MIGHT get lucky and only blow the MAIN fuse! and it won't be a little fuse either.sometimes doing this will blow many things, including computer, several fuses, sensors, and could melt wiring! the only thing i can suggest is either get a test light or a volt meter and start checking ALL the fuses because you have one or more that is blown.if you got lucky, then only a fuse or fuses are blown and nothing costly is damaged!
