Actually, it's an 88 Merc Tracer. It will turn over but no spark..
What is your question?
We have an 88 Merc Tracer my son just bought. It was running rough so we replaced the plugs n wires. Everything is gapped correctly, firing order is correct. We can't get it to start. It cranks over n you can smell fuel, so no fuel issues...its just not sparking. Any ideas?

Simple way to check the coil is to remove the center wire from the distributor cap, insert a phillips screwdriver into the end of the wire, hold near a piece of metal on the engine and have someone crank it over. If the coil is firing you will see a spark from the screwdriver shaft to the metal (be careful not to be touching the metal shank of the screwdriver yourself or it will give the spark to you instead, which can be somewhat painful). If the coil is not firing, then suspect the ICM, which is located either on the side of or inside the distributor. As far as checking the ICM, I really don't know if there is a way. Maybe someone with more experience than me can help you there.
No? How to I check that?
