My 1997 Mercury Mountaineer will lock and unlock the doors while driving down the road. Also, the "door ajar" sensor and indicator will sound several times while driving. Please Advise.

You door lock swtiches are built into the door latch. If you have already sprayed a wd-40 type product in all door latches, and closed and opened serveral times, it may be time for a new latch. Its likely one is reading open intermittently and causing the doors to unlock and lock on their own. Alex
Hello, It is likely one of two things. -The door open/closed switch is failing -The wiring between the chassis and door (in the accordion-like rubber tube) has become damaged It is likely the driver door in either case, and the wiring between the door just wears out due to opening and closing, the same way a wire hanger snaps after flexing. You can remove the rubber tube between the door and chassis, and look for evidence of broken wires, and if that is not the case, remove the door open/close switch to test it with a multimeter.
In addition - compressed air from a 'shop air compressor' is helpful with cleaning the door ajar switch. â–ªï¸https://repairpal.com/repair-shopsâ–ªï¸
