how do i get the air bag light to go out

Hello! The airbag light is on because the system is detecting a problem. This could be anything from a seat belt sensor, seat sensor, or the airbag module itself. You may want to have a local shop take a look and see what is going on. If the light is on, the airbags may not function correctly in an accident. http://repairpal.com/mercury-repair-in-charlotte-north-carolina-28299
SRS system can be scanned with the proper scanner to determine area of fault.. Probably the best way to approach this issue.
thanks, where is the seatbelt sensor, and the seat sensor located.also the airbag module.i have an fair knowledge of cars might want to look at it myself if possible.
The seat belt sensor is in the seat belt receiver(the part you click the belt into), the seat sensor is typically in the passenger seat cushion, and the airbag module can be one of the airbags themselves (in the dash, in the steering wheel, etc.). These are not items one should work with before diagnosing the issue first. There can be many reasons why the system would throw a warning message.
thanks good info have the info to be ready for an repair shop.i can see not buying parts not needed, air bags itself definitly got to have the tools, miss my 64 chevy.
Ah yes. Much more simple back then. Good luck!
