if this is a 3.0 liter it does not have a timing belt.
Tar Heel Person >>> it has a timing chain,if it's 2.3L or 3.0L.no required service on the chain.should last the life of the vehicle,unless it starts rattling or making a noise.

your welcome.most ford/mercury vehicles will go to the junk yard and chains still in tact!i have a 2000 F150 with the 4.6L engine in it with the 2 chains.307,700 miles,still factory chains on it!!i can out run any cop out here in their crown vic with the same engine i have,IF THEY ARE GOING THE OTHER WAY FROM ME!!!!!good luck.
