is there a counter ring for ABS on a left front axle cv joint ?

Don't know on MBs , but on newer Honda , the 'counter ring' is IN the wheel bearing and if installed backwards , it will set a code and turn the ABS light on. Did you notice where and how the SPEED SENSOR is located and installed? That may be a clue also.
