I'm hearing a noise coming from the driveshaft and front end of the truck.

Is the drive shaft noise from the center of the vehicle? If so, the drive shaft carrier bearing is a rather common problem on earlier MLs. As far as the front end noise, ball joints and tie rods go bad frequently on that vehicle.
