What is your question?
1998 Mercedes ML320. Hoping to be able to monitor the battery voltage from inside the car. Want to keep an eye on the battery easily. It was completely dead recently & Canadian Tire put it on their fast charger for a few hours. Couldn’t find anything to help me, in the manual, to find a voltage reading without popping the hood every time and taking a reading with a meter.
What makes this problem better or worse?
We’re told that we need to drive the car more. Just quick 1km drives to the store every 2-3 days weren’t keeping the battery charged up.
How long has your 1998 Mercedes-Benz ML320 had this problem?
On and off for a few years. Have gone through 2 batteries.

You can purchase a volt meter the plugs into the power socket (cigar lighter) that shows battery voltage on a small digital window - very inexpensive.. Otherwise I don’t know of any other ‘onboard’ feature available.
While engine is on - it will display alternator output voltage.. Very handy and accurate little gadget! Walmart - - Amazon - - eBay, etc.. Now there is also a device called Battery Tender - however it cost more money and requires more involved connections that includes the necessary 120 volts.- but it will ‘maintain’ the desired battery’s state of charge during extended periods in which vehicle is parked.
